Today’s window into the Texas electricity market and the corresponding electric prices is for Houston electricity (Centerpoint TDSP). The electric rates for Houston are typically in the middle area of Texas prices, not as cheap as Dallas but not as expensive as South Texas. The month to month variable rates start at 7 cents, and the long term fixed plans start at 8 cents. We also highlight the different green energy plans available in the Houston electricity market. Happy Monday, everyone. First, I’d like to welcome back everyone from what was hopefully an enjoyable Thanksgiving Holiday for all of us. With everyone full up on turkey and black Friday shopping, things are settling down and people are settling in for the Holiday season. With that in mind, I’m back to posting the daily price updates for Texas electricity prices. Monday’s entry, as always, is for Dallas Electricity market, which also covers Fort Worth electricity (Oncor TDSP footprint). Prices are still really low, with quite a few month to month plans still hanging out right in the middle of the the 6’s, were they’ve been for the past month or so. The Fixed Rate electricity plans are starting off in the mid 7s. That’s some pretty low rates. Hopefully this list will help people out to shop for new electricity plans this week.

Two day’s left until Thanksgiving, and to celebrate the the Holiday bounty we’re posting a cornucopia of Houston electricity rates with the hope that it will help holiday shoppers save money. Black Friday isn’t the only way consumers can save money. Even though Houston hasn’t hit the real cold part of winter weather yet, the electric rates this time of year are still low. And while Houston electricity (Centerpoint footprint) isn’t as cheap as Dallas, there’s still plenty of opportunity for customers to get a great deal on their electricity prices. Maybe that extra money can go towards Christmas shopping.

Texas Electricity Updates Rankings – 11/22

Texas Electricity Ratings has updated the rankings today, and the #1 Electricity provider in the land is still Champion Energy. Champion is the reigning JD Power & Associates winner for overall customer satisfaction for Texas deregulated electricity providers. This is the second straight ratings update where Champion has finished in the top spot. Also making a strong move up was Spark Energy, moving to the #2 spot. Spark has had some consistently low prices in the electricity market which helped them improve their standing. Rounding out the top 5 are Bounce Energy, StarTex Power, and Dynowatt.
The TER Rankings are based on a number of different factors, including PUC statistics, Better Business Bureau rankings, Green Energy Plans, Customer Reviews, JD Power Rankings, Electricity Rates, Promotions, Call Center Satisfaction, and more. The rankings are designed to give a complete picture of the different electricity providers operating in the Texas electricity space. There’s more to any electricity provider than just low prices or marketplace longevity.
